Rose Water

I remember "flowers" was one of our first assignments in Photography class (I took one at the USDA Grad School.  Good introductory course, and helped tremendously to turn my 30D into something more than an expensive point and shoot).  Ever since, I've continued to look out for cool floral arrangements to shoot.  Similar, I guess, to the Fall in Georgetown shot, but taken nearly 2 years later.  And in Dubai.

But angle, DOF, and subject are pretty much the same.

Thoughts?

Great shot, the DOF here is very good, with a point of view on the bottom left - gives a great impression of the number of petals.
Michael Benjamin Studios: Thanks, Tom.
With the white balance I'm not sure here. The yellow orange tone from the petals was original or was due to the white balance setting?
Michael Benjamin Studios: AWB, and petals were indeed that color.

Lighting was tough, though, and in a few similar pics (taken from different angles), the yellow seems much less orange. I liked this one because of that hue.

But keep the comments coming, Delia. Maybe next time I'll play with White Balance, as well. Just to see the result.
For me, there is too much for the eye to try to focus on. They eyes just keep crossing.

May it would help if you blur the back, front left and front right petals a little more with photoshop. Really accentuate the petals that are in focus in the front middle.

I would love to see a single, stark white rose sitting on top of all those gorgeous petals!
