photoblog image Our rings

Our rings

So, as you can see, it's a similar set-up as yesterday's image.

Any suggestions on how to make the main diamond pop a little more?  Lighting effects?

Help gratefully and graciously appreciated.

Lovely image, Michael - I can imagine that clients would be impressed!
Michael Benjamin Studios: Thanks, Tom. These are "our" (as in my wife's and my) wedding rings. I took pictures of them right before we did a wedding photo shoot for another photog friend.

So, yes, the clients are impressed ;-)
this is a really beautiful image. well done!
Michael Benjamin Studios: Thanks, Charles.
I agree, it's a very pleasing composition, and good BW work. I think maybe you can make an S curve, add a mask, invert the mask, and paint just on the head of the top ring, to get that pop. Otherwise some blur applied as Soft light, maybe do the trick ... Perhaps just a smart sharpen will bring extra focus to the ring? I'm babling now ...
Michael Benjamin Studios: Thanks, Thomas. I'll give it a try.
