photoblog image Liwa dunes

Liwa dunes

The empty quarter, UAE.  Hot.  Sandy.  And, for the weekend of 16-17 April, home to 13 men from the Evangelical Christian Church in Abu Dhabi.  "Man Camp", as we called it, was the last chance to enjoy 'winter' in the UAE.

When I took this shot this morning at 8 am, it was already 32 degrees (Celsius, folks.  For my American friends, it was about 90 degrees).  I walked over the dune in hopes of finding a swimming pool.  No such luck, so I came back around and took a stereotypical pic.

I like the B&W version, too, so will post that tomorrow for your review.

It is not so stereotypical - how many people are ever in a position to take such a picture? Only the dune dwellers smile
